About
One engineer, one body, one careful experiment
I'm Christian — an engineer in Brisbane, Australia. In early 2025 I read that human brains now carry roughly a spoon's worth of plastic, and that the number is rising. I couldn't find anyone doing the obvious next thing: measuring their own levels, systematically cutting their exposure, and measuring again. So that's this site — the protocol, the receipts, and a research digest along the way.
House rules
Every claim is graded by evidence tier and linked to its primary source. "Association, not causation" is said in full whenever it applies. Negative results get published with the same prominence as wins. Corrections are published, not buried — including other people's and my own. Nothing here is medical advice, and there will never be a detox pitch: nothing is proven to pull microplastics out of a body, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
Money
This is a passion project first. There are no ads and no affiliate links right now; if affiliate links are ever added, they'll be marked as such and limited to products I actually bought and use — the kit list came before any commercial thought, and the order history proves it.

Corrections, studies I've missed, or your own results to compare: email hello@theplasticexperiment.com — especially if I've got something wrong. Being correctable is the whole point.
